This is an antique Yoruba African tribe hand forged iron metal dance rattle anklet which was worn and also used as trade currency. This iron Yoruba tribal currency rattle anklet was collected in Nigeria, Africa. This iron primitive money currency specimen is in good overall antique tribally used condition with a very rusty patina and a few holes worn through the metal.This currency specimen measures 5.63 inches across by 4.12 inches tall and has an outer circumference of 15.35 inches around and an inner circumference of 9.55 inches.
Currency bracelets & anklets served as indications of wealth and were used to store finances, pay for dowries and buy or trade for livestock and goods.
