This is an antique hand forged Dogon tribe iron metal bracelet which was worn and used as currency by African tribal people for trading transactions. This iron currency bracelet was collected in Mali, Africa. This iron primitive money currency specimen is in great overall antique tribally used condition with a rusty patina.This currency specimen measures 3 1/8 inches wide and has an outer circumference of 9.90 inches.
Currency bracelets & anklets served as indications of wealth and were used to store finances, pay for dowries and buy or trade for livestock and goods.
