    Hi! My name is Elena.
I’m collecting ancient beads from 1979. Most of my beads were found in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. To be precise they were found between Mary city (Turkmenistan) and Samarkand (Uzbekistan). That area in past was called Bactria. Nowadays there are a lot of ruins older than 2000 years in this region.
I like ancient beads very much and want that other collectors will be able to obtain them without paying a lot of mone. That is why my prices are very modest.
    I lived in
    Ashgabat
city (the capital of Turkmenistan) over 30 years. About 15 km from Asgabat there is Nisa – former residence of Alexander the Great, and capital of Parthia.
In most cases the ancient beads, not only played the role of jewelry but also the status of the person wearing them. You were able to tell the social status of an individual based on the beads they were wearing, while other used these beads as talismans protecting themselves against bad luck and the evil eye.
Certain beads that have zigzagging lines are supposed to confuse the evil eye which would get lost in these lines, Beads that have the image of an eye try to just absorb the evil energy, and thus protect the person who is wearing them. Periodically the beads would be washed in salt water, because it is believe the salt water kills the negative energy. The image of the eye was sometimes very abstract and was more like an image of a flower, however sometimes the beads would correctly reflect the wearers eyes, including the color.
    Parthia kingdom.
The tsar of Parthia - Mitridat I (around 170—138/137 BC) took away the Selevkied's eastern satrapies (land) — Persia, the largest part of Mesopotamia, Armenia and a part of the Greek-Baktrijsk state till Hindu Kush. Also he was first to accept the title "the tsar of tsars", and that way he showed himself as a heir of Ahemenids. Selevkieds could not restore their domination — the army of selevkied's tsar (Antioh VII) has been defeated in 129 year BC. Nevertheless Parthia still had to fight of neighboring cities for a long time. Stabilisation came only at the time of Mitridat II (around 123—88/87 BC) who took over Drangian, Arejja and Margian, and also northern Mesopotamia. Parthies actively interfered with political strike of last Selevkids in Syria, under the Parthia's political influence there was Great Armenia, where in 95 year BC Tigran II has been enthroned.
Nisa city was the Tsar's Residence. Nisa's ruins are entered in the list of the World heritage of UNESCO.
Nowadays in the scientific world Turkmenistan is
    recognized
as «a cradle of ancient cultures and
    civilizations
», «a crossroad of generations and
    civilizations
». Reports of the international scientific conference prove the importance of this place and the role in the development of world culture of Parthia kingdom and it's capital - Nisa, which were on a route of the Great silk way and served as the cultural bridge between the East and the West.
