    Description

    This is an ancient copper metal large ring
    which was made, worn and used as currency by ancient tribal people for trade transactions in Mali, Africa. This copper primitive money currency specimen has a hollow head which has some dirt residue inside and some on the outside and is in ancient excavated condition with a very heavy green surface patina from being buried for a very long time.
    This ancient ring is estimated to be 1,300 years to 2,000 years in age.
    Currency bracelets, rings & anklets served as indications of wealth and were used to store finances, pay for dowries and buy or trade for livestock and goods. This is an amazing example and a perfect piece to add to any advanced African currency collection. This currency specimen measures 2.80 inches long by 1.21 inches wide and weighs 1 ounce. The most common forms of traditional money in Africa were made of metal, either forged or cast.
